Ruta por le Marais

Este barrio no es tan visible para los viajeros como lo pueden ser Montmartre o el Barrio Latino, pero si lo recorren, seguramente se convierta en uno de sus zonas favoritas de la ciudad de París. Tras pasar por una fase de decadencia, el Marais resurgió con fuerza en la década de los 60 y en la actualidad esta lleno de bares modernos, tiendas y restaurantes sofisticados y en el que se encuentra instalada la comunidad homosexual de Paris.

Antiguo barrio residencial de la nobleza parisina, se sitúa en la orilla derecha del Sena y se caracteriza por su colorido y oferta cultural.
Forma parte de los distritos III y IV, delimitado por la Rue du Temple al oeste, el Boulevard Beaumarchais al Este, la Rue de Bretagne al Norte y el Río Sena al sur.
Si bien ninguna de las grandes atracciones de París se encuentra en el el barrio, hay muchisimo para ver y también buenos restaurantes, tiendas y bares.

Ruta por Le Marais

A. Plaza de Bastilla

Mucha historia ha pasado por esta plaza, pero en nuestra ruta nos sirve como punto de entrada para Le Marais.

La Place de la Bastille es una zona muy tranquila donde se llevan a cabo diferentes ferias, mercadillos y conciertos, sobre todo en la temporada alta de verano.
Frente a la plaza hay muchos restaurantes para sentarse a beber algo o comer, mirando la gente pasar. Seguramente la mayoría no vale mucho la pena, salvo quizás Café Français, que realmente es hermoso. Realmente vale la pena pasar un tiempo observando la vida en esta parte de la ciudad.




B. Plaza de los Vosgos

De una plaza a la otra, pero en este caso ya en el corazón del barrio.  Una de las más lindas de París.

La place des Vosges es además de las más antiguas. Los edificios que lo rodean son totalmente simetricos de ladrillo rojo muy bonitos y bien conservados. En primavera es una maravilla con sus árboles y plantas en pleno brote. Que hermoso que este este lugar de París!.

Merece la pena acercarse a la pequeña casa-museo situada en la esquina de la plaza. Fue residencia del célebre dramaturgo francés durante un largo periodo de tiempo y conserva de manera admirable algunas de sus habitáculos.  La entrada es gratuita.  Otra visita interesantes justo a pocos metros es NextStreet Gallery
Para los que tengan ganas de gastarse una pequeña fortuna, aquí esta ubicado uno de los de los mejores restaurantes de París (y del mundo), con 3 estrellas Michelín. L’Ambroisie es muy famoso, bastante caro y sólo es posible ir con reserva.

C. Musée Carnavalet y Museo Cognacq-Jay

Desde la plaza, seguimos por la calle Rue des Francs Bourgeois para llegar a 2 museos muy interesantes y no tan conocidos por los viajeros.

El primero es el Musée Carnavalet. En el museo se han elaborado cerca de 3.000 textos para contar la historia de París desde la prehistoria hasta nuestros días.
El Hôtel Carnavalet es uno de los escasos testimonios del Renacimiiento parisino (junto con el patio Cuadrado del Louvre).
El Museo Cognacq-Jay funciona en un el palacete en donde se exponen más de 1.200 objetos entre los que se incluyen pinturas, esculturas, dibujos, muebles y objetos decorativos pertenecientes al siglo XVIII. . Una buena oportunidad para observar obras de Rembrandt, Canaletto, Guardi, Greuze, entre otros. La entrada es gratuita.

D. Ayuntamiento de París

Probablemente el ayuntamiento más bello del mundo.  El edificio actual, de estilo neo renacentista, fue reconstruido por los arquitectos Théodore Ballu y Edouard Deperthes en el sitio del antiguo Hôtel de Ville.

Muy cerca de aquí,  justo en el cruce de la Rue de Brosse y la Rue François Miron, tiene su ubicación la Iglesia de Saint-Gervais que es considerada la más antigua de la margen derecha del Sena. La razón de esta antigüedad viene dada por la existencia previa de una basílica del siglo IV.
También muy cerca, se puede visitar el Shoah Memorial. Este lugar de memoria cuenta la historia de los Judíos de Francia. Impresiona observar El Muro de los nombres, en el cual están grabados los nombres de los 76 000 deportados de Francia.
Una recomendación final, para los antes del café, imposible perderse La Caféothèque donde se puede probar café de todos los paises del mundo en donde se produce.

E. Centro Pompidou

Además de ser uno de los ejemplos mas significativos de arquitectura moderna (famosas son las tuberias de colores que decoran sus fachada) alberga una de las colecciones mas grandes de arte moderno asi como una fantastica libreria e incluso un cine con proyecciones artisticas. Abre de miércoles a lunes: de 11:00 a 21:00 horas.

Podemos aprovechar para hacer un descanso o un picnic en la muy linda plaza Anna Frank. Un rincón de París para descansar, tomar almuerzo al aire libre, jugar y disfrutar del jardín.
También a metros de aquí, tenemos uno de los mejores cafés de especialidad en la ciudad. Se llama Terres de Café (14 Rue Rambuteau).

F. Museo de Picasso 

El Museo de Picasso se encuentra alojado en el viejo Hotel Salé, un antiguo palacete del siglo XVII que desde el año 1979 viene atesorando gran cantidad de obras de arte del pintor y escultor malagueño. Es uno de los museos más importantes en cuanto a obras de Picasso en el mundo.

Abre de martes a viernes para visitarlo es de 11:30h a 18 h; los sábados, domingos y festivos es de 9:30hs a 18 hs y cuesta 12 euros.

G. Le Carreau du Temple

Este antiguo mercado de ropa, se ha convertido en un gran centro cultural en el barrio de Le marais. Se distingue gracias a su estructura de vidrio y metal, El Carreau du Temple es un edificio industrial construido durante el periodo de Napoléon III.

Hoy en día se realizan todo tipo de actividades deportivas y culturales.  Muy recomendable visitar su web para ver la agenda de eventos.
Y aquí termina nuestra ruta por el barrio de Le Marais, pero sólo por ahora, porque se irá actualizando con nuevos lugares para conocer en este gran barrio.

Como llegar a Le Marais

Para llegar a Le Marais y la Place des Vosges es preciso tomar la Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, a la derecha del Río Sena y junto a la Plaza de la Bastilla.
Se puede llegar usando el metro, más precisamente Bastille, las líneas 1, 5 y 8.

Alojamientos en Le Marais
