En el centro de París, en medio del Sena, hay dos pequeñas islas: Île de la Cité y Île Saint-Louis. Los turistas acuden en masa a Notre Dame, ubicada en Île de la Cité, pero pocos se toman el tiempo para descubrir los numerosos parques, tiendas y cafés de la isla.

Rebosantes de historia y encanto, estas islas son destinos dignos tanto para nativos como para turistas.
La Isla de la Cité es el barrio más antiguo de París, donde se hallaba la antigua Lutecia. Un barrio que concentra, además, varios lugares infaltables en cualquier visita por París: el Puente Nuevo, la catedral de Notre Dame, el puente del Archevêché…

Que ver en la Ile de la Cité

Los puentes

Es fácil acceder a la Isla de la Cité, pues está conectada a ambas orillas del Sena por nada menos que ocho puentes, y todos ellos de gran belleza. El más antiguo es, el Puente Nuevo (y bue) que une ambos lados del Sena.
El resto son el Pont au Change, el Pont Notre Dame y el Pont Arcole por la orilla izquierda, y el Pont Saint Michel, el Petit Pont, el Pont Au Double y el Pont de L’archeveché (este último es el más estrecho, y desde él se obtiene una vista muy bonita de la Catedral de Notre Dame).

Lamentablemente van a pasar varios años para que como viajeros podamos visitarla ya que se encuentra en reconstrucción, debido a el incendio.
Por supuesto que es la catedral más famosa de Francia. Desde sus torres se pueden contemplar de cerca sus famosas gárgolas y disfrutar de las vistas de la ciudad.

Sainte Chapelle

Hermosa capilla un poco escondida y opacada por Notre Damm. La iglesia es pequeña y esta ubicado en el interior del palacio de Justicia francés. Exteriormente no llama la atención si no se la busca pero el interior es hermoso.
Las vidrieras son espectaculares y si tienes  las oportunidad de disfrutarlas en un día de sol, la lluvia de colorer que inunda la pequeña sala es inolvidable. La entrada son 10 euros pero merece la pena visitarla

Cripta del Antiguo París cerrado temporalmente

Idealmente situada entre los brazos del Sena, sirvió durante mucho tiempo como refugio en caso de invasión; será para siempre el corazón y la cuna reino. La Cripta ofrece un panorama único de la evolución urbana y arquitectónica de la isla de la Cité, el centro histórico de de París.
La cripta arqueológica de París, que puedes visitar para contemplar los restos encontrados durante las excavaciones realizadas en este área a comienzos del XX, y que son la mejor forma de descubrir el pasado y relevancia histórica de la Isla de la Cité.

Conciergerie

Es un sitio muy especial con mucha historia y que afortunadamente está intacto. Se pueden apreciar distintas salas que conformaban la prisión: la cocina, donde estaba la guardia, las celdas, el patio donde las mujeres podían salir algunas horas y por supuesto la celda donde estuvo cautiva María Antonieta durante 76 días antes de ser ejecutada.
Llaman la atención sus objetos personales y la túnica con la que fue trasladada al momento de su muerte.

Place Dauphine

Es un lugar hermoso alejado del ruido en el medio de la Ille de la Cité. París cuenta con maravillosas plazas, sin embargo, existen también pequeñas plazas que tienen un encanto especial, quizá por su historia o por ser las preferidas de los parisinos.
La plaza Dauphine es un claro ejemplo de ello. Rodeada de pintorescos café y ubicada en pleno centro histórico de París, se caracteriza por su estilo barroco.

Punto Cero de las rutas de Francia

En la plaza de la catedral Notre Dame, hay un medallón parecido a una rosa de los vientos. Se trata del Punto Cero de las carreteras de Francia. Teoricamente, cuando anuncian una distancia hacia París en cualquier sitio de Francia, se refiere a este punto preciso de la capital.
Realmente es un punto imaginario que fue establecido por los cartógrafos del siglo XVIII porque tenían necesidad de tener un lugar de referencia y podían haber escogido éste como otro cualquiera.

Mercado de Flores de la Place Louis Lépine

En el borde de la Île de la Cité, un grupo de pabellones de metal verde alberga uno de los mercados de flores más conocidos de París.  Además de los accesorios de jardinería, muchas de las tiendas de flores venden recuerdos, como bolsas de lavanda y pequeñas cajas de música.
Los domingos se convierte en Mercado de Pájaros. Además, es un buen punto desde donde comenzar nuestra visita por la Isla de la Cité, pues está justo al salir del metro Cité y al lado del Palacio de Justicia y la Sainte Chapelle.

Sur le Pouce

Uno de nuestros restaurantes favoritos de la isla.  Pequeño, con sabor parisino y comida casera.  Buenos precios y la oportunidad de probar clásicos como la La sopa de cebolla, los crepes o el pato. Un lugar con alma de barrio a metros de la Catedral de Notre Dame.  Como plus, unos camareros bien simpáticos y que hablan español.

Le Caveau du Palais

Ubicado en una bonita plaza de la Cité. Este restaurante no va a estar entre los mejores de París, pero tampoco entre los peores. Comida francesa bien elaborada a precios medios. Apto para vegetarianos, opciones sin gluten. Un lugar para comer en uno de los lugares más tranquilos y lindos de la ciudad.

Sequana

Excelente experiencia culinaria en un ambiente acogedor. Muy buen restaurante con un ambiente romántico. Los platos son ligeros y originales. Sabores delicados, ingredientes algo inusuales y un servicio muy atento Muy buena selección de vinos acompañantes. Excelente relación calidad/precio.

Brasserie Les Deux Palais

Muy buena comida, elaborada pero tradicional. Fresca y bien presentada. Rápida para ser restaurante. Sitio tranquilo limpio y bien decorado a precios muy normales aunque un poco de aprovechamiento del local de cara al turismo.
