No hay otra comida que acompañe más al viajero que la pizza. En cada ciudad del mundo hay un italiano que sabe lo que esta haciendo…

Peppe Pizzeria se ubica en el distrito 20, no lejos del cementerio Père Lachaise, es una buena oportunidad para probar un producto elaborado con ingredientes de calidad, y así lograr escapar de los  pedidos que durante la pandemia hemos realizado desde la aplicaciones, que en general dejan mucho que desear.

Y a pesar de la inexplicable popularidad internacional de varias grandes cadenas de pizzas estadounidenses, hay pocas cosas más tristes que una pizza mediocre.

Había estado leyendo sobre este lugar justo antes de que le confinement (cuarentena) cerrara casi todos los restaurantes de París, y decidí que estaría dispuesto a viajar a la mitad de París para probar la pizza que había ganado Giuseppe Cutraro, también conocido como Peppe, el “Campeón mundial de la pizza napolitana 2019-2020”. (“El arte del Pizzaïoulo napolitano” figura en la lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO desde 2017).
Una cosa que hace que las pizzas de Peppe Pizzeria sean tan buenas es que permiten que la masa, que está hecha de harina importada de Nápoles, fermente antes de amasarla y golpearla, de modo que la masa enrollada se llena de bolsas de aire y la base es excepcionalmente ligero y delgado.
Peppe hizo una temporada en Keste en Bleecker Street en el West Village de la ciudad de Nueva York y también trabajó en Suiza antes de venir a París para trabajar como pizzero para Big Mamma Group en París, que tiene siete restaurantes italianos en la capital, uno cada uno en Lille y Lyon, y dos en Londres.
Sin embargo, Peppe quería su propio lugar, así que abrió a fines de enero, y el restaurante había estado lleno para el almuerzo y la cena hasta que llegó el cierre a mediados de marzo.

La experiencia

Un lugar con una cálida bienvenida. Entre las pizzerías que se pueden encontrar en esta ciudad, sin dudas esta debe estar en el top 3. Pizzas ligeras, cremosas. Los productos son frescos y de gran calidad. La relación calidad-precio es sinceramente inmejorable.
