Una visita al Castillo de Montecristo

El  Castillo de Montecristo se encuentra a solo una hora al oeste de París.

Se encuentra aquí la antigua casa del legendario autor francés Alexandre Dumas. Château Monte-Cristo, que lleva el nombre de su famosa novela El Conde de Montecristo, cuenta con terrenos caprichosos llenos de grutas, cascadas y el antiguo estudio de escritura de Dumas ubicado en medio de un estanque.

A un precio de entrada de 8 €, esta joya escondida lo convierte en un viaje de un día perfecto fuera de la bulliciosa ciudad.

Alejandro Dumas

En el apogeo de su fama, gracias al éxito de “Los tres mosqueteros” y “El conde de Montecristo”, y con un toque de megalomanía, Alejandro Dumas busca escapar de la conmoción de París. “Quiero un castillo renacentista que dé a un pabellón gótico, rodeado de agua y un parque inglés, adornado con grutas, rocallas y cascadas”.
Estas fueron las instrucciones que Dumas dio a su arquitecto Hippolyte Durand, quien construyó este paraíso terrenal cerca de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, al oeste de París, que lleva el nombre del héroe epónimo de la famosa novela del autor.

Locura arquitectónica

El castillo neogótico, con sus fachadas enteramente esculpidas, es un monumento histórico catalogado. En el interior, se exhiben los recuerdos del escritor: retratos, cartas, libros y tesoros como el asombroso salón morisco finamente decorado, donde encontrará los bustos de los escritores favoritos de Dumas: Dante, Shakespeare y Molière, así como una gran cantidad de exóticos objetos traídos de sus viajes.
Enfrente, descubre el Chateau d’If, un pequeño castillo gótico rodeado de agua, que sirvió como estudio del autor. Trate de identificar los 88 títulos de sus novelas tallados en las fachadas. Los devotos pueden completar la experiencia visitando la tumba del escritor en el Panteón.
Y de abril a octubre se pueden realizar recorridos teatrales y musicales donde los actores disfrazados relatan la vida en el castillo durante la época de Dumas.
Pintores, escritores, escultores…, vivían en la Región de París. Dentro de las casas de artistas excepcionales.

Visita al castillo

La visita comienza por el castillo, de inspiración renacentista. En el interior, el salón morisco cuenta el día a día de Alejandro Dumas. Después se atraviesa el parque para llegar al castillo de If, un edificio neogótico que albergaba el despacho de trabajo del escritor.
Una visita vespertina al castillo de Monte-Cristo nos transporta a la época de Dumas : nos imaginamos el escritor ante las hojas en blanco, oímos el murmullo de los vestidos de las damas que asistían a sus suntuosas recepciones y nos llega el aroma de los suculentos platos que preparaba el propio escritor.

La Experiencia

Si deseas visitar algo oculto y fuera de la lista de sitios turísticos típicos, este es un lugar para ir. No está muy lejos de París y vale la pena visitarlo en un soleado domingo por la tarde, por ejemplo. Fue el hogar del autor francés Alexandre Dumas, quien escribió, entre otros, Los tres mosqueteros. Al parecer, tuvo una vida bastante emocionante y al final tuvo que vender todos los muebles de la casa para pagar sus deudas.

De todos modos, la ‘casa’ es más como un castillo y hay una ‘cabaña’ adicional donde solía escribir. Muy bonitos jardines para pasear también.

Tren : estación de Saint Lazare – en dirección a St Nom la Bretéche , línea de la parada de autobús de Marly -le-Roi 10 hacia Marly le Roi , deje de “lámparas “, Kennedy luego por la primera avenida en el camino correcto de Montferrand , siguen el recorrido peatonal .

RER A : dirección y dejar de Saint Germain en Laye – La línea de autobús 10 en dirección a Marly -le- Roi , deje de “lámparas ” , bajar la Avenida Kennedy y luego ruta Montferrand primera a la derecha , siga la ruta peatonal.

En coche : 20 minutos a partir de la Defensa. A13 o A86 en dirección a St. Germain en Laye .
